🍔 Juneteenth Southern Heritage Burger — Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally received word of their freedom. This pivotal news arrived more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

✨ Monday / Tuesday Lunch Special ✨

Happy 1st of June!! We have so much going on here at the Market, apologies if I forget anything. Here’s the rundown of all the exciting stuff.

First, today’s special sandwich is so good I’d consider putting it on the menu. It’s a Carolina Gold BBQ Chicken Sandwich on Mancini’s brioche. In between the bun is a housemade slaw, pickles, a 5-ounce piece of chicken slathered in our also housemade Carolina Gold BBQ sauce. And it’s all topped with bacon and smoked Gouda cheese.

It goes with our Vegan Summer Succotash Soup, perfect for a day like today.

Being the first of the month, we are proud to have a new burger of the month: the sweet and savory Juneteenth Heritage Burger. And that’s not it. We also are starting our Summer Smoothie Series with a Honey Nut Cheerios Smoothie you have to try to believe.

✨ Friday / Saturday Lunch Special ✨

To finish out this last, precious, quiet week before summer shenanigans hits the market, we took one of your favorite sandwiches and changed it completely! 🎉

Today we have a Blackened Swordfish Torta, and trust us, if you’re going to have one blackened swordfish sandwich for lunch today, make it this one. Served on an airy ciabatta bun, this beast starts off with refried black beans, then comes an 8-ounce(!) portion of blackened swordfish, and that is topped with a house-made roasted tomato and jalapeño salsa, quick and simple cabbage slaw, queso fresco, avocado, and a chipotle lime crema to top it all off. 🌮🐟

Keeping the synergy strong and the soup vegan, we also have a Charred Corn, Black Bean, and Poblano Soup! 🍲🌽
