🫐The bushes are loaded with sweet, ripe fruit, in spite of the dry weather! We are still earnestly praying for rain, but we have been blessed with plenty of ripe berries on our bushes. Thanks everyone for your patience! 🫶

⏱️ The waiting game continues - Wendell Blueberry Farm is Still Closed for Ripening.

This super hot weather sure is turning the berries blue, but due to the dry conditions (and despite our fancy irrigation system), the blueberries are not getting plump and sweet like they should.

We ask for your patience and for your prayers for rain.

We will post another update Wednesday afternoon (June 10).

We are keeping our hopes up that we can have an abundant season… last year we did not open until June 9. We are not officially worried yet, but we sure could use some rain!

We have some good news, and some bad news…

👎Bad News First:
The hot weather is helping our blueberries turn blue, but they are mostly sour.

After an initial flush of beautiful, sweet ripe berries, our bushes are struggling to ripen their fruit. We desparately need rain, and even with our irrigation, it’s been hard.

Therefore, we will remain

June 7 & 8

Believe us when we say we are so sad about letting y’all down. The season started earlier than anticipated, so we are still not “behind” - but we were fortunate to have more pickers than our bushes could handle as they came into season.

‼️We will Announce Opening Hours for this Week on the afternoon of Monday June 8 ‼️

We appreciate your patience as we await the sweetening of our blueberries.

👍Now for the Good News:

Our Pick-Your-Own Blueberry Season will likely extend into early August this year, so you will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy our farm this Summer.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who came to pick our Beyond Organic Blueberries for the first two days of our season. 🙌 Wow, we have been slammed 🥰

Our bushes are just getting started for the year, and unfortunately we have to be

to allow more berries to ripen.

We want to give everyone the best picking experience possible, and many of you drive quite a distance to pick “The Berry Best” - although we have plenty of berries on the bushes, they need a day off to ripen and sweeten up.

Hopefully this little break will allow us to stay open the rest of the season.

🚨BREAKING🫐NEWS🚨 Blueberry Season is just a few days away! Our 2026 OPENING DAY will be Thursday June 4! 🎉

The blueberry bushes are loaded and starting to ripen! We will be ✨OPEN FOR PICK-YOUR-OWN ✨ 6 Days a Week, 8am - 6pm (Closed Wednesdays) starting Thursday June 4. Our season runs through the beginning of August, so make sure to plan a weekly trip to the farm this Summer so you can enjoy fresh blueberries and stock some away in the freezer for the rest of the year 😋

🎄✝️🎁 Wishing you all a Merry Christmas! Can’t wait to see y’all in June 2026!

We had the good fortune of celebrating with our children and grandchildren. We all contributed to this beautiful spread, including several traditional Romanian dishes to remind us of our first home. Of course there were two blueberry dishes using 🫐blueberries🫐 we froze from this year’s harvest: blueberry pie and blueberry pavlova. Also, our granddaughter Violeta contributed her first dish to the family dinner: Mandarins with cranberries for decoration 🥰

We have much to be grateful for, including being a part of this community. Thank you to everyone who has supported our farm, and we look forward to meeting more of y’all soon! God Bless you all 💙🫐
