I no-tilled some Wapsie Valley open pollinated corn into alfalfa that was also used for corn last year. Between the alfalfa, corn, grass and Ragweed (25% protien), the cows and calves are looking good. I can regraze it again this fall after 30 days or build up a winter forage stockpile of grass and alfalfa.

Gotta love a bunch of gentle, easy keepers.
We will have some 50% British White heifers up for discussion when they're 10 months. You'll also have the option of bringing them back to be exposed to our up and coming yearling British White bull.

Letting the cows and calves out to graze a giant ragweed patch.
Common ragweed had greater invitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD) than both alfalfa an oats. It’s average invitro digestible dry matter is 73%, it’s acid detergent fiber is 25%, and it’s crude protein is 25%.
When nature gives you lemons, make some lemonade!
A couple spools of 6 strand poly wire and step-in posts and the cattle have alfalfa, corn, ragweed and other forage.
Weedy fields grazed before they go yo seed will equal cleaner fields next year without sacrificing soil health.
