Last week we kicked off our very first grilling segment with KAAL-TV ABC 6, and what better way to start than getting your grill ready for summer!
Before you throw on that steak, burger, brat, or turkey breast, a little grill prep goes a long way. A clean grill means better flavor, better cooking, and fewer flare-ups when you’re trying to impress the neighbors. 😉
As a butcher, I’ve seen too many beautiful cuts of meat sacrificed to dirty grill grates. Let’s not make that mistake this summer!

GrillFest 2026 is officially in the books, and wow—what an incredible time!

We had the honor of partnering with the Minnesota Pork Producers and spending the weekend doing what we love most: talking pork, firing up the grills, sharing recipes, and meeting thousands of fellow food lovers.

From juicy pork samples to great conversations, it was a nonstop celebration of everything that makes Minnesota grilling season so special. We met longtime Blondies customers, made new friends, and had the chance to showcase the amazing pork raised by Minnesota farm families.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by, grabbed a sample, asked questions, snapped photos, and shared a laugh with us. You are the reason we love what we do.

Special thanks to the Minnesota Pork Producers for trusting Blondies to be at the helm of the grill all weekend long. It was an absolute blast! Thanks to for coming to hand out samples and Jason Derusha for stopping in for a visit!

Now we’re headed home smelling like smoke, running on caffeine, and already looking forward to next year. 🐷🔥

That’s a wrap on GrillFest 2026 with !! We spent the weekend serving boneless pork loin. We had a few friends join us at the grill, starting with of the Minnesota Frost and USA Olympic Gold Medalist Women’s Hockey! As well as who is a big fan of Minnesota Pork and a great supporter!

Today is Memorial Day. A day to remember. A day to honor. 🇺🇸
These telegrams hang on my office wall as a constant reminder of my family’s service — and of the sacrifices made by so many families who were not as fortunate as ours.
I read them often, especially on days when I think I’m having a hard day. Every single time, my perspective shifts back to pure gratitude.
1️⃣ A telegram sent to my grandfather a few months before he was shipped to France during WWII:
“Mother is dead. Be brave. Others are well.”
— Signed by my great-grandfather
2️⃣ My grandfather was in the second wave to storm the beaches of Normandy… and he survived.
This telegram was later sent to my grandmother, informing her that my grandfather had been seriously injured by a N**i gr***de that October.
By the grace of God, my grandfather made it home. Many of his friends did not.
As wars and conflicts continue across generations, many of my own friends have now experienced that same heartbreak and sacrifice within their own families.
To the families currently sending their children overseas — including those preparing for Iran as we speak — my thoughts and prayers are with you.
This Memorial Day, no matter how many brats or steaks we sell this weekend, my greatest reflection will always be gratitude and honor for the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country. 🇺🇸
We remember them today — and every day.
