Co-op Opportunities

Windbiel Organic Farm is offering the opportunity to utilize sweat equity hours to obtain organic produce at harvest. Produce available include four varieties of winter squash; acorn, spaghetti, mini spaghetti and butternut as well as two varieties of onions; large yellow and white. All of these varieties store very well.

Details:
Sweat equity hours equivalent to $8 per hour in produce.
Help needed in hoeing and weeding rows between plants.
Days needed are Monday through Thursday July 9 – 12 from 8 a.m. to noon or 4 p.m. Evening opportunities are available. Drinks and lunch provided.

We have noticed that the deer stay real close to the tree line in the field where the eagle got the fawn. Have not seen any deer out in the open. Crops growing well.

Mark watched an eagle get a fawn the other day. Picked it up and dropped it in the acron squash field. Before the end of the day there were three eagles feeding on the fawn. Amazing to watch both the beauty and brutality of nature.

With 4 inches of rain the last 2 days gives us the rain that was so needed. The crops as well as the weeds are showing their appriciation.
