It takes a village, a lot of hard work, and one incredible Nana to build something that lasts.

We are officially one giant step closer to opening day! Super Nana came down to help us haul the last of the equipment we need to get Farmstead Direct ready for you this fall.

Every shelf, refrigerator, and piece of equipment loaded up means we are that much closer to giving our Waldo neighbors a reliable, indoor market. A destination where you can easily pick up a complete local meal—from fresh seasonal produce, eggs, and everyday pantry staples to our pasture-raised Braze Ranch Wagyu beef.
Building this store while managing our daily routines isn't easy, but with a community and family like ours in our corner, we are making it happen for you.

Between working our full-time off-farm jobs and getting Farmstead Direct ready for you, the to-do list never really ends. So when our mower went down for repairs this week, we needed a little help keeping the grounds in check.

Enter: Super Nana.

She came down to save the day and help us mow the grass so we can keep our focus exactly where it belongs—building a reliable, indoor market where you can easily pick up a complete local meal, from fresh seasonal produce and pantry staples to our pasture-raised Wagyu beef.

It truly takes a village to bring this vision to life.

Drop a ❤️ in the comments to show some love for Super Nana! Who is the unsung hero in your family or village? 👇

At Farmstead Direct, we are building a space to tackle the local food gap head-on. Our permanent Farm Stop model gives local farmers a reliable place to sell their harvest all week long, without the weekend burnout of constantly traveling to pop-up markets.

For you, it means total transparency. Whether you are picking up fresh local vegetables or our own pasture-raised Braze Ranch beef, you will always know exactly where your food comes from. No guessing, no stripped labels, and no wholesale illusions. Just real food from real neighbors.

We can't wait to share this space with you. Sign up for our newsletter to watch the progress and get notified when we open: https://squareup.com/customer-programs/enroll/DFHmgvpwMkRc?utm_medium=copied-link&utm_source=online

Have you noticed that when someone asks for a "farm stand" recommendation in local Facebook groups, the comments are immediately flooded with suggestions for incredible sourdough, baked goods, and crafts? 🥖🍯

We absolutely love our talented Florida cottage makers. But it got us thinking—why has the actual farming part of the farm stand started to fade into the background?

The numbers tell the story: the U.S. lost over 141,000 farms between 2017 and 2022 alone. As fewer people grow food, traditional roadside produce stands are becoming a rarity, often replaced by wholesale goods shipped from thousands of miles away and disguised as local.

We just sent out a deep dive into this topic to our email subscribers. If you want to read our thoughts on local food transparency and what we are doing to fix it, get on our list here: https://squareup.com/customer-programs/enroll/DFHmgvpwMkRc?utm_medium=copied-link&utm_source=online
