Happy Thursday! Father’s Day is right around the corner and we are here for all of your needs. Stay tuned for our sales next week guaranteed to make Dad happy! As a heads up, the newsletter will be sent out tomorrow.

In the meat department this week, we have Mike’s Tuscan Pin Wheels on sale for $7.26 a pound. We take pork loin that we trifold open and spread a sun-dried tomato, spinach, feta, olive oil and garlic stuffing. Then, we roll this delectable piece of meat up so that it takes on a “pinwheel” shape (much like our French Steaks) in our Italian Bread Crumbs, and just like that they are ready to be thrown on the grill or into the oven for a mouthwatering and savory meal that pork lovers and everyone else will enjoy! As these are a newer item, Steve recommends either baking it at 400 Degrees for 18-20 minutes, or grill/broil it for 5-6 minutes per side over medium heat—the Internal temperature should be 145 degrees. Let us know how you enjoy this delicious and expertly crafted cut!

Our Bone In Chicken Thighs are also on sale for $2.38 a pound. If you are looking for something different than chicken breast, chicken thighs are the next best thing. In the meat department this week, we have Italian Sausage on sale for $6.22 a pound. With both Mild Italian and Hot Italian, this classic sausage is perfect for the grill as we head into the weekend, or tossed in your sauce to go with your pasta. Thank you to everyone that joined Steve and Brian for our first ever Knife Skills class at the center! It was fantastic to connect with our customers and local community. Everybody had a great time learning from our expert butchers on how to not only sharpen and take care of your knives, but different ways to prepare chicken and turkey to economically feed your whole family for dinner with fresh, quality meats. Our class participants gleaned so much knowledge of techniques such as spatchcocking and deboning chicken— and we are very proud of everyone stepping out of their comfort zone to learn these new skills that they can share with their families.

Our next Cooking Local class is slated for Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 6:00-7:30 PM, and will highlight different pork cuts as well as invaluable knife skills. There are only a few spots left, but we anticipate these will fill up fast. If you are interested, please sign up today through the Villa Park Parks and Recreation website. Happy Thursday and welcome to Summer! With Memorial Day as the unofficial beginning of Summer, kids are finishing the school year, the pools are open, and most importantly peak grilling season has arrived! With the finalization of our burger challenge this week, we would like to crown The Ole Smokey the winner and will remain in our burger lineup throughout the Summer while the Tex Mex Pub Burger will enter hibernation for now. With enough interest, we may bring this back for the future! Thank you to everyone who voted in our contest, voiced their opinion, and purchased these burgers. After a long, drawn-out battle with many votes cast and hundreds of pounds of burgers sold, The Ole Smokey Burger is the winner of our Casey’s vs. Mike’s Burger challenge!

Congratulations to the team at Mike’s who created this delicious patty, and thank you to our loyal customers for consuming and participating. Since The Ole Smokey has won and is the last burger standing, it will remain the sole patty available throughout the summer. The Tex Mex Pub Burger is on the chopping block and has officially entered hibernation for the time being. Who knows, if you all miss it enough, this patty just might make a comeback in the future!
