With the recent detection of New World Screwworm (NWS) in Texas, the Victoria Office of Emergency Management (VOEM) is actively monitoring the situation, and at this time, there are no suspected or confirmed cases in Victoria County.

VOEM encourages residents to Inspect, Report, and Stay Informed.

What you can do:
• Inspect livestock and pets daily
• Treat wounds promptly

If you suspect a case, report immediately:

• Pets – Contact your local veterinarian

Food Safety Reminder:
According to the USDA, the U.S. food supply remains safe. NWS does not infest meat, fruits, vegetables, or other food products. Any affected animal would be identified during inspection, ensuring no contaminated products enter the food supply.

Happy Tuesday from the gardens where the rain is keeping bounties coming and baskets full of pesticide free produce! From Let’s Grow TX Ag airing our episode, to chef prepared meals with our farm fresh food, growth in the garden, and what you can expect at the Victoria Farmers' Market from Wagner's Delight on Wednesday & Saturday from 9am to 12pm there is plenty to discover if you scroll through in preparation for market this week. I have great recipes and nutritional information in the captions so be sure to check them out!

Special thanks Joe Adams, Bianca & Jason Morrow who did a great job of highlighting the pesticide free farm to market operation I'm running out at the farm. I hope to spread the message that nature can give us health, wellness, nutrition, and purpose. Gardening is accessible to anyone who wants to get involved at any scale which is why farmers’ markets are a great place to learn about your local food system, being a conscious consumer, and learning all you need to know to start your own garden so don’t hesitate to ask those questions if you visit my booth. 🌱

We have new cucumbers, New Mexican Hatch chilis, Oaxacan peppers, arugula, tomatoes, squash, eggplant, and more this Saturday at the Victoria Farmers' Market!

So excited to offer up unique produce every week, but especially this week from pesticide free friends of the market. Scroll through to read about them and find delicious recipes.
