Danielle is the baker, creator, and dog-treat enthusiast behind Canine Confections by Chloe LLC.
“My journey began with a tiny Maltese named Chloe, a rescue from a puppy mill near Youngstown,
Ohio. I adopted her in May 2017, during a time when I was grieving the loss of my grandmother. I didn’t
know it then, but Chloe would become the comfort my heart needed — and I would become the safety
she had never experienced.
When Chloe first came home, she had no understanding of what love, gentleness, or trust felt like. But within just three days, she began transforming. She learned to interact with people, to potty outside, and — the moment that still brings me joy — she felt safe enough to sleep on her back for the very first time. Watching her discover what it meant to be loved sparked something deeper in me.
I started baking healthy, homemade treats for Chloe as a way to celebrate her healing. That small act
grew into a passion, and eventually into a business: Canine Couture and Canine Confections, all
inspired by the little dog who taught me so much about resilience and love.
But on May 6, 2021, our world changed. During one of her normal daily walks outside our home, Chloe
and I were attacked by a neighbor’s dog. Despite everything done to save her, Chloe didn’t survive.
Losing her in such a tragic way broke my heart — but it also strengthened my commitment to honor her
life in a way that would continue spreading joy, comfort, and love to other pets.
Today, Canine Confections by Chloe LLC exists as a tribute to her memory. Every recipe, every treat, every wagging tail at my booth is a continuation of Chloe’s story — a legacy of healing, hope, and unconditional love. I bake small-batch, handcrafted treats made with simple, real ingredients. No fillers. No shortcuts. Just quality, safety, and care — the way I always baked for Chloe. From April through October, you’ll find me at local markets and events, where I consistently sell out. During winter months, I create custom cakes, pup ice cream, and special-occasion treats that help families celebrate their dogs the way Chloe deserves to be remembered: with joy.
Chloe’s life changed mine. Her memory motivates everything I do. Thank you for supporting a small business built from love, loss, healing, and the belief that every dogdeserves the very best.
