While y’all thought I was just over here making sourdough and arguing with chickens, I’ve apparently also been quietly surviving graduate school. 😅

It’s officially official — I earned my Graduate Certificate in AI and Business Analytics with a 4.0 GPA.

Seven classes left until the MBA is finished.

So if Black Rooster Acres suddenly starts using words like “predictive analytics” to determine cinnamon roll demand… now you know why.

Honestly, this explains a lot:
• the spreadsheets
• the color-coded chaos
• the “just one more batch” calculations
• and my concerning relationship with caffeine

Anyway… thank you all for supporting this little dream of ours while I juggle ALL the things. 🖤🐓

Now back to your regularly scheduled bread content.

And yes… I like to stay busy.
And yes… I apparently have a personal grudge against sleep.

I understood the assignment.
Mom wanted cinnamon rolls… so obviously she got cinnamon rolls plus strawberry rolls… and because self-control isn’t really a thing around here, I threw in Black Raspberry Sweet Rolls too.

We recruited an official Black Rooster Acres taste-testing panel (Dad + my niece Lauren). The verdict? Plot twist: they said the Black Raspberry rolls were better than the strawberry. 👀

But let’s not get carried away… cinnamon rolls still reign supreme and remain the undefeated heavyweight champion around here. 👑🍞

Now the important question: Team Cinnamon, Team Strawberry, or Team Black Raspberry?

Rain this weekend? Maybe. ☔ But we’re still ready for that little ray of sunshine when it shows up. 🌞🍔

Fresh buns are in the stand and standing by for grilling weather, backyard weather, porch weather… or “I’m making burgers anyway because I refuse to participate in this forecast” weather.

Soft, fresh, and ready whenever Ohio decides what season it wants to be today.

🚨 Sunday morning heads up: I’ll be putting out a very limited batch of cinnamon rolls… and strawberry rolls too. And by “limited,” I mean if Scott catches wind of them first, all bets are off.

Ok - you all know I dont like to be serious on here- I want this to be a light hearted happy place with no politics- I am serious about that but does this worry anyone else?

What I don’t get is, why don’t they cover the parking lot at airports with solar panels? Wouldn’t that make more sense than farmland?

Stand is OPEN 🐓

The shelves are stocked and the sourdough is showing off today.

Today’s lineup:

🍞 Sourdough bread

And for the people who like a little drama in their carbs… there’s ONE loaf of jalapeño cheddar, which somehow manages to be one of my most requested flavors right behind the original. Apparently y’all enjoy a little spice with your emotional support bread.

Get here early… because around here “I’ll stop later” has historically ended in disappointment and staring through the stand window like a bread detective.

Farmstand is stocked and we’ve got a new arrival: Mini Sourdough Banana Bread 🍌🐓

Made with ripe bananas, sourdough goodness, and a touch of cinnamon to make Scott wander into the kitchen asking what smells so good. Soft, cozy, and dangerously good with coffee. I can personally verify the pairing ☕️

Also… if things look a little different around here 👀 you’re not imagining it. We may have been working on a little farmstand glow up. Full reveal later… or you can stop by now and see if you can spot what changed.

There’s something about a hand-shaped knife that stops you for a second. The weight of it. The way it fits. Like the one that lived in your grandmother’s kitchen drawer for forty years and outlasted everything else in the house.
We found our guy up in Midcoast Maine. He makes these bread bow knives exclusively for Black Rooster Acres — every single one shaped by hand with Lie-Nielsen tools, from hardwood sourced right out of Southeastern Ohio. No two are exactly alike. That’s the point.
This is the kind of thing you buy once and hand down later.

Introducing the newest little members of Black Rooster Acres… Bubbles, Buttercup, and Sunny. ☀️🫧🌼

I had the day off today, so naturally I spent it exactly how any reasonable adult would… sitting outside in the sunshine watching tiny fluffy creatures discover swimming for the first time.

They’ve already:
🛟 turned the water dish into a full resort experience
☀️ demanded supervised outdoor time
🫧 caused chaos in shifts
🌼 and somehow convinced us they belong here permanently

Scott would like everyone to know “this was not the plan.”
The girls would like everyone to know they do not care.
