In 2026 we are celebrating our 89th year as one of Iowa's oldest family owned small businesses 🎉
In 1937, our store started as a small lunch counter on Locust street in Downtown Des Moines that offered fresh pressed juice and sandwiches. The Campbell family had a passion for nutrition and dreamed of a healthier community, even in the midst of the Great Depression. Since then, Campbell's has expanded to the grocery store you know and love with two locations, on University and in Urbandale.
Our longstanding history means our roots run deep in Des Moines. Campbell’s works hard to make a difference and help build a healthier community by providing quality products and being an educational resource for our customers. We continue to partner with local vendors, support local non-profits, and give back to our community as much as possible.
