Amish Honey π― Wheat πΎ
Made with fresh milled Hard Red Wheat
You may know that wheat bread is better for you than white bread, but do you know why?
During the refining process of turning wheat into flour there is some nutrient LOSS.
- 70-80% of FIBER is lost and is primarily found in the bran; which is sifted out.
- 98-100% of VITAMIN E, & B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, & B9
- 80-85% of MAGNESIUM
- 70-80% of IRON
- 70-75% of ZINC & PHOSPHORUS
- beneficial compounds such as PHYTOCHEMICALS & ANTIOXIDANTS that are concentrated in the bran are lost during the milling of WHITE FLOUR.
Because of these losses most commercial flour is enriched with synthetic versions of Iron, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin & Folate. All of the other nutrients mentioned above are lost and not replaced.
Advantages of FRESH MILLED whole grain flour.
- Full spectrum nutrition ( fiber, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants)
- Enzyme activity- this helps aid in digestion and nutrition absorption
- NO Additives- free from bleaching or maturing agents
- Bioavailability- natural vitamins are better absorbed in the body than synthetic.
- Flavor & Aroma- natural oils in the germ provide a rich, nutty flavor that is lost when the germ is removed or when it sits on the shelf for months.
