honor system. A little bit about Paul, Hana and Down Home Acres... A small scale sustainable and ecologically sound farm.

We strive to improve the health of our soil by adding compost and aged manures, cover cropping and field crop rotation. Our river bottom land has high mineral levels which is one of the many reasons why our vegetables are so full of flavor and nutrition! We love the taste old-time heirloom tomatoes! Did you know we grow over 50 varieties of tomatoes? Ranging from the delicious heirloom brandywine

to the super sweet sungold cherry tomato. We also have an obsession with KALE! Drive by our farm and you will see fields of kale..purple kale, green kale, tuscan kale, baby kale, micro kale...you name it, we grow it.

There’s a new little entrepreneur at Down Home Acres 💛

Brooke has officially started her own little shop space in the farm stand, filled with mini treasures she carefully picked out herself — adorable resin animals, tiny duckies, squishy cubes, and other fun little surprises. She’s been so excited setting everything up and learning what it’s like to run her own small business.

It’s especially sweet for us because it brings back memories of our older daughter Emma, who used to sell her homemade lip balms in the stand (she may be bringing those back this summer) Watching our girls create, dream, and share their ideas with our community has been one of the best parts of this little farm stand journey.

I think (hope!?) that was the last frost! We have beautiful tomato plants and lettuce starts for your garden or patio! Open daily 10-6. Eggs available. We are sold out of all salad greens today but will be harvesting again for the weekend and then daily once things start growing a bit faster.
