🌻🐓 FRIDAY NIGHT PLANS… HOMESTEADER EDITION! 😂

Remember when Friday nights meant getting dressed up, going out, and staying up late?

Well, these days, my idea of a wild Friday night might involve checking the chicken coop, making sure the rabbits are settled, feeding everybody, and wondering if I remembered to shut the barn door! 🤣

And the funniest part?

I wouldn’t trade it for anything. ❤️

There’s something pretty wonderful about a quiet evening at home, knowing all your animals are tucked in and taken care of.

Of course, that doesn’t mean somebody won’t find a reason to cause trouble before bedtime! 😂

So tell me… what’s your Friday night looking like?

🍿 Relaxing on the couch
🔥 Sitting around a bonfire
🐓 Finishing farm chores
🎉 Actually going out and having some fun!

🥚🌻 LET’S TALK FARM-FRESH EGGS!

There’s just something about walking out to the chicken coop and gathering fresh eggs that never gets old. ❤️

Of course, the girls don’t always cooperate with my plans. Some days they’re generous, and other days you’d think they were on strike! 😂🐓

But that’s part of raising your own food. You learn to appreciate what your animals provide, whether it’s a basketful of eggs or just enough for breakfast.

Here at Green Acres, our eggs are gathered fresh and kept unwashed to preserve their natural protective coating.

Now I’ve got a question for everybody…

How do you like your eggs?

🍳 Over easy, with a runny yolk
🥚 Scrambled
🍳 Fried hard
🥘 Made into a big country breakfast casserole

Me? I think everything tastes better when it comes straight from the farm! ❤️

🐇🌻 THERE’S MORE TO RAISING RABBITS THAN JUST CUTE LITTLE FACES!

Now don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love watching these little personalities grow! ❤️

But here at Green Acres, raising meat rabbits is about so much more than that.

It’s about learning to be a little more self-sufficient, knowing where our food comes from, and taking responsibility for the animals in our care.

From choosing healthy breeding stock to feeding, housing, and caring for each rabbit, there’s a lot that goes into raising your own food.

And believe me, I’m still learning! Every litter teaches me something new. 🐇

It’s not always the easiest way to put food on the table, but there’s a tremendous amount of satisfaction in it.

I’m curious… how many of you are raising some of your own food, or would love to get started?

🌻🐓 MONDAY MORNING DREAMS VS. FARM LIFE REALITY! 😂

You know how some people start their week with a perfectly organized to-do list, a fresh cup of coffee, and a plan?

Well, around Green Acres, the animals usually have their OWN plans… and apparently, mine are optional! 🤣

Between feeding chickens, checking rabbits, collecting eggs, and making sure everybody is happy, Monday has a way of reminding me who’s really in charge around here.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way! ❤️

Here’s my question for all my fellow homesteaders and animal lovers:

🌻🐓 SUNDAY EVENING AT GREEN ACRES…

Well, another weekend is almost in the books!

The chickens have been fed, the rabbits have made their demands, the cats have supervised absolutely everything, and somehow there’s STILL something that needs doing around here! 😂

One thing about farm life… you might finish your chores, but your chores are never finished! 🤣

And yet, there’s something pretty special about watching another day wind down, knowing you’ve taken care of the animals that depend on you.

It may not always be glamorous, but I wouldn’t trade this life for anything. ❤️

This is Dot. ❤️

She’s one of those farm cats who doesn’t need to make a big fuss to let everybody know she belongs here.

She’s got her favorite spots, her own little routine, and that unmistakable look that says, “I’ve been running this place longer than you think.” 😂

Between Dot, Princess, and the rest of our four-legged crew, there’s never a shortage of personalities around here.

And yes, Dot was named for her spots. Sometimes we keep things pretty simple at Green Acres! 🤣

🐇🌻 ISO: NEW ZEALAND DOE — BREEDING STOCK

Well, folks, the hunt is officially on! 😂

Meet Sage, my handsome New Zealand buck here at Green Acres Meat & Three. ❤️

As you can see, this boy is no lightweight! He’s a BIG, solid fellow, and I’m looking for a quality New Zealand doe to pair with him as I continue developing my meat rabbit breeding program.

I’m specifically looking for:

🐇 A mature, healthy New Zealand doe

🐇 Good size, body structure, and overall condition

🐇 A solid meat-producing bloodline

🐇 A calm temperament is always a bonus!

Because of Sage’s size, I’m not interested in pairing him with an undersized doe. I want to find a good match and build a strong, productive breeding program.

📍 Located in Tullahoma, TN. Willing to consider reasonable driving distances for the right girl!

👑 EVERY FARM HAS A BOSS…

And apparently, ours is Princess. 😂🐈

There I am, running around feeding everybody, filling water buckets, and tending to the daily chores…

Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness is perched above me, supervising the entire operation.

Not lifting a paw. Not offering to help. Just making sure the hired help stays busy. 🤣

I’m beginning to think I don’t actually own this farm. I just work here!

Anybody else have an animal who thinks they’re management? 😂

One of my favorite little sights around Green Acres. ❤️🥚

There’s just something about gathering a basket of fresh eggs that never gets old.

Different sizes, different shades, sometimes a little dirt still attached 😂—nothing fancy, just fresh eggs straight from the girls who laid them.

Around here, our eggs are collected fresh and kept unwashed, just the way they come from the coop.

And considering how much feed these ladies manage to go through, I appreciate every single egg they leave behind. 🤣🐔

Simple things.

Farm things.

Green Acres things. 🌻

And yes, when I have extras available, they do find their way to other breakfast tables. 😉
