I love smoked fish. We’ve been selling a lot of our house smoked trout and salmon lately. The house cured lox are bomb too. We’re working on some smoked salmon and trout salads as well.

Thank you for helping me make a dream come true for me, you, and all who call Forbes their employer. We might employ a lot of people but I hope everyone on this team will grow to see themselves as owners. Lobster roll weekend is 10/24 and 10/25. We love lobster roll weekend with the house-made lemon meringue pie, whoopie pies, and all the other tasty offerings the team makes.

Sando special for Thursday, Spicy 🤌🤌🤌Meatball Sub.

Here’s what Chef Rob has to say about the spicy meatball sub,

The write up on the Sando this week is: meatball hoagie with house made meatballs, spicy marinara, smoked provolone, chopped cherry peppers and Castelvetrano olives on an amoroso roll.

Rob also took this really cool picture.

Our bodega continues to grow and if you want to make the spicy meatball sando at home we have the amoroso rolls, cheese, sauce, meatballs (house-made) and olives in the bodega. Just ask Jason for a little tour and he will guide you well.

Jason is incredibly passionate about making the Bodega at Forbes a destination for Tucsonans.

There is no age limit with the link above however, there are things that you will see that will make you feel a certain way and what to leave work and come right down to the shop. Also, we’re having a Japanese A5 Wagyu sale $85 per pound for Japanese A5 Wagyu ribeye or New york untrimmed slices only.

BarXBar Beef Est. 1879 Porters & T-bones on the menu tonight at Forbes. 36oz and 40 oz beauties for two or one hungry person. Add some sides a bottle of w**e or three and I’d recommend this for a table of 4. Then finish with some of our house-made desserts. Cheers!

Gimme dat Forbes Meat beef sando. This one’s going to be a sell-out for sure. House made roast beef,
Sesame bun, horseradish cream, RB (roast beef) sauce, panko breaded onion rings, cheddar mornay sauce. Oh my, oh my, oh my gimme dat forbes meat. This Thursday only $17.00 each and as always dine in and add a pint of b**r and stay awhile.

True story. When I was 16 years old, which as 37 years ago. I was an apprentice at Rancho Market and we had this customer named Charlie who would order a 3 inch porter house and tell us not to trim any of the fat. When I cut this 60 day dry aged BarXBar Beef Est. 1879 wagyu today it reminded me of him. I love that I can remember him so vividly after all these years and so many of you in the same fashion as I remember Charlie and that first butcher shop job I had. This career has been such a rad adventure that has taken me to the east coast and back here to Tucosn. My teachers told me I could travel the world with this trade and they were right. Thank you Jim and Joe Randall for teaching me and of course my friend Hector Cortez who taught me so much as well. I learned so much from these men and I hope I can teach this trade to many more people and that they too can create so amazing memories in this short life.

I freaking love what I do, the product I get to work with, the fisherman, ranchers, mongers at Nelson’s Meat + Fish, and the team I get to do all this amazing work with, the team at Forbes Meat Company.

You won’t find a better butcher shop, seafood selection, and our brasserie, bodega and bar is definitely one of the best in Tucosn. When it comes to our brasserie I know we’re surrounded by some greats. For instance Charro Steak, The Parish, 5 Points Farmers Market, The Coronet, Tito & Pep, TIME MARKET, Lindys on 4th, Mama Louisa’s Italian Restaurant, , and so many other great restaurants like Kingfisher and then you’ve got the best bars as well like, Ronnie Hardcase Batch, Owls Club 1538, and the list goes on.

I’m just so grateful to be a small part of this very large and talented community and I appreciate the love and patience as we learn to be as good as you all.
