🌱 What’s the difference between Organic and Regenerative Agriculture?
Both farming approaches share a commitment to healthier food, healthier people, and a healthier planet. Organic farming follows a strict set of standards that prohibit most synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, while regenerative agriculture focuses on improving soil health, biodiversity, water quality, and ecosystem resilience over time.
What many shoppers don’t realize is that some local farmers are taking it a step further. While they may not carry an organic certification, they often follow many organic principles and use regenerative practices such as cover cropping, crop rotation, reduced tillage, composting, and rotational grazing to actively rebuild the land for future generations.
At the farmers market, buying directly from local growers gives you the opportunity to ask questions, learn how your food was produced, and support farmers who are committed to caring for their soil and their communities. Every farm is different, and many are doing incredible work that goes far beyond what a label can tell you. 🌾❤️
