Less than 24 hours notice for a 2 day Main Street construction project is insane and insulting, but we will be open and we’d love to see you!!

NOTICE - The City of Trinidad will be performing Asphalt Grinding Work in preparation for an asphalt overlay on EAST MAIN STREET from Commercial St. to Linden Ave. beginning Thursday September 17, 2026 at 6:00 am. To allow for asphalt grinding work, residents business owners and customers are required to remove their vehicles from the street on that day. The grinding work depends upon good weather conditions, the schedule is tentative, which is currently expected to last 2 days.

Asphalt Grinding will be performed on the North side of East Main Street on Thursday and on the South side of East Main Street on Friday. Detours will be along E. 1st Street and Elm Street.

Property owners and residents will be required to remove any vehicles from the street during the construction period to allow the work to proceed as quickly as possible. All citizens are requested to avoid driving in the area to decrease the possibility of any accidents and work delays and to ensure the best possible finished product.

Pedestrian Access to adjoining homes and businesses along East Main St. will be available.

We’ll have reduced hours from September 12 - 21 because Molly is going on vacation! Like she’s actually leaving town, not just saying she’s on vacation while still working at the store with the lights off. We have a great crew running the store and everything will be fine and Molly isn’t going to check in every hour (maybe just every 3-4 hours).
