Help Every Good Apple Find a Home - Apple pre-sale orders are now open at Wunsch Farms! Through their Pound-for-Pound Apple Donation Program every pound of apples purchased is matched with another pound donated.
This program addresses food insecurity by helping ensure food pantries are stocked with healthy produce, supports local agriculture, and makes sure that no good apples go to waste.
Right now, 1 in 6 children in Grand Traverse County will not have the healthy fruits and vegetables they need at some point this year, according to Feeding America. That’s why supporting this program and other farm donation programs to make sure no good food goes to waste is so important.
Here is how it works: Pre-order your apples or simply make a donation, then go to Wunsch Farms (2629 Phelps Rd.) on either October 3, October 10, October 17 and October 24, between 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, show them your receipt, and receive a bag that you can fill up right in their orchard or from their pre-picked bins.
