We're whaley excited about our two new cheeses in the case.

Melinda Mae from the The Mystic Cheese Company is a bright and buttery brie-like cheese, with hints of Button mushrooms and sea salt.

If you get the reference, let us know in the comments! We'll give you one clue: All Mystic Cheese names are whale-themed due to the town’s seaport location. 🐋
Our next cheese is Walter Rass’ Challerhocker, a Swiss cheese with complex flavours of brown butter, nuttiness, and sweet cream.

This cheese won top 2 spots in local competitions 15 of the last 20 years!

Any Curb Your Enthusiasm fans out there? Maybe you will remember the episode where Larry buys a highly desired cheese, “The Vonderdonk” (in real life it was Challerhocker), and leaves it in Jeff and Susie’s fridge, who end up eating it, resulting in a hilariously heated argument over who legally had possession of the cheese.

See you this weekend!

What’s that? It’s National Cheese Day? 🧀 🤩

We know a little place you can come to celebrate. It’s called The Local Culture, and we’re located at 10 Broad Street in Hamilton, NY.📍

We just so happen to be open on this very special day from 2 to 9 pm and to celebrate the occasion we’re offering free samples of Emmentaler - which bears a striking resemblance to the cheese emoji, don’t you think?

Want to know a little secret? We actually offer free samples of any cheese in the case, whether it’s National Cheese Day or not! Just ask as you’re perusing.

Sit down while we tell you a little story!

We discovered BobbySue's Nuts years ago while out on a date night at our favorite Long Island vineyard, and they quickly became a favorite snack for us.

As we prepared to open The Local Culture, we were looking for delicious accompaniments to serve on our charcuterie boards. We took a shot and emailed the BobbySue's website to share that we were opening a cheese shop and wine lounge in an *awesome little town* in Central NY, and we would love to sell their nuts and feature them on our boards.

The owner responded enthusiastically that he absolutely knows Hamilton... because he is a Colgate University alum!

The rest is basically history - until this past weekend, when we had the unexpected pleasure of meeting Adam in person right here at TLC!

We just love a small world scenario like this one. It serves as a reminder to take that chance, because you never know how it could turn out.

We also love that a portion of the BobbySue's Nuts profits go toward animal welfare organizations - a cause near and dear to our hearts. 🥜🧀

📢 🥳 SPECIAL: Inspired by one of our awesome regulars, we bring you this delicious Panini special of melty Brie, Speck, and Blueberry Jam all grilled together perfectly on crispy sourdough bread from our friends at Flour & Salt Cafe🤤 Available until sold out!

Pro Tip: We recommend pairing this sweet and savory sammie with Hamilton Harvest Winery Cayuga White wine to complement the sweetness of the jam or Devil Log smoked lager to enhance the smokiness of the speck 🍷🍺 Both proudly served here!

We could not be more excited to show off the newest addition to our space. Say hello to our hand-carved sign made by local woodworker of .co.

Being woodworkers ourselves, we know exactly how much time and craftsmanship went into this sign and we are absolutely blown away by the result.

This piece of art will hang as a beacon here on Broad Street, grabbing the attention of cheese-lovers for years to come! 🧀🍷

We highly recommend Joe and his work - in fact, he also carved the Flour and Salt sign around the corner from us! Joe is not only an artisan and artist but a carpenter and contractor by trade, handling projects from timber framing, cabinetry and home renovations to porches, tile and stone work, and more! You can learn more about his offerings at http://ravelwood.com
