Our Junior Farmers at Desert Ridge Academy pulled these beautiful carrots straight from the soil! 🥕

There is something powerful about watching students experience where real food comes from. These carrots started as tiny seeds, were cared for week after week, and now the students get to enjoy the reward of their patience and effort.

Growing food teaches more than gardening… it teaches responsibility, consistency, and appreciation for the process.

🌱 From seed to harvest!

Our Junior Farmers at Desert Ridge Academy just harvested their radishes and the results speak for themselves. In just a few weeks, students experienced the full growing cycle: planting seeds, caring for their crop, and harvesting fresh, nutrient-dense food they grew themselves.

Programs like this do more than teach gardening…
They build confidence, curiosity, and a deeper connection to real food.

Radishes are a perfect crop for learning because they grow quickly and show students how powerful consistent care can be.

We’re proud to help students experience the science of growing food and the excitement of harvesting something real.

Swales & berms on our new trees. Thank you to for the beautiful citrus. Building roots the right way. Swales + berms help our citrus trees catch water, beat the heat, and thrive in the desert. Swales and berms are ancient! We are talking thousands of years old. They were being used long before irrigation pipes, pumps, or sprinklers existed.

From a spare bedroom to this. In 2018, I left my county job with nothing but a vision: to bring real nutrition back into our food system. I started growing microgreens in a spare room of our condo, not knowing where this journey would take me—but believing it was the right path.

Fast forward to today, and this greenhouse is proof of what’s possible with faith, hard work, and a purpose bigger than yourself. It’s not just about growing food; it’s about building systems that make fresh, nutrient-dense food accessible to more people. In 2022, I had the opportunity to help design and build a greenhouse in the jungles of Costa Rica—a small step toward a bigger vision of sustainable food structures worldwide.

Grateful for every challenge, every lesson, and every person who’s supported this mission. Here’s to sustainable food, bold dreams, and always pushing forward. 🌱💚
