🛒 Farm Store open Thurs-Sun, 10a-6p

We opened our first ever farm store with a desire to continue our history of supporting our local community. Since opening, we’ve expanded from offering our own Kinloch Farm products to a curated market of goods from Virginian producers. Our store is located at the entry to rural Virginia, nestled within the fields our cattle graze, and just outside the historic town of The Plains. We carry a complete inventory of cuts of our grassfed, grass-finished beef and other select products from our farm. We hope that you will stop by our store and continue on to visit the shops, restaurants, and attractions of our town and community. We also encourage you to come further support Virginia farmers on Sundays from 10am to 2pm when we share our location with the long-standing Archwood Green Barns Farmers’ Market.

Art, science, and agriculture come together to capture the season’s ephemeral beauty.

Karly Murphy of KMpressed harvests wildflowers, plants, and grasses for her botanical mixed media artwork.

Here, she accompanied our restoration practitioner Megan at three different sites for guidance: the conservation team’s native seed farm and two of their restoration units, including a savanna remnant in a wooded power line cut through. These areas are especially full of native plants that can be hard to find elsewhere.

Karly harvested hairy boneset, Maryland golden aster, wavy leaf aster, upland ironweed, several species of goldenrod, and more.

Come check out her work at our farm store, they make PERFECT gifts!

Fall calf update!

Our newborn cattle are happy and healthy, and a huge part of that comes from their mothers.

In the first 2-3 days after their calves are born, the cows produce colostrum ahead of their milk. It’s the key to building the calves’ immune systems and rumens. In about 60 days, the calves will be able to graze and digest plants, learning what’s tastiest from mama.

We’re excited to see white blazes on our calves, genes passed on by our South Poll bulls!
