Vest Pocket Family Farm
Community Supported Agriculture Farm Shares (CSA)
2013

Vest Pocket Family Farm will again be offering Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares from our farm! A CSA consists of a community of individuals who pledge support to a farm operation where the growers and consumers share the risks and benefits of food production. CSA's usually consist of a system of weekly deli

very or pick-up of vegetables and fruit, sometimes including dairy products and meat. Shares from Vest Pocket Family Farm this year will include vegetables and a dozen fresh brown eggs per week. The cost of the share is $494, due when you sign up. Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work? The season will begin May 28, 2013, and will run for 19 weeks until October 1, 2013. There will be one pick-up location: our home place on Chenoweth Loop, on Tuesdays, delivery can be arranged for an extra fee. The share is planned to provide the produce for a small family, one half bushel bucket full. Although each week reflects the reality of that weeks' harvest. In the early weeks, boxes will tend to be lighter than in the middle of the season. I'll try to vary the kinds of vegetables, herbs and flowers in your box so that you get a variety of produce, although you should expect a lot of some things when they are in high season. Here are some examples of what we grew last year....tomatoes, potatoes, cucumber, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, winter squash, summer squash, baby greens mix, spinach, radishes, carrots, Swiss chard. We will have these vegetables, plus many more! What are the benefits of joining a CSA?
*weekly supply of freshly-harvested food
*supporting a local business
*supporting sustainable local farming
*being connected to the food, the farm, and the seasons

John is a horse farmer. He is also a mentor, a selfless philanthropist, a long time hard headed idealogue. He is a visionary. He possesses a deep well of wisdom, tempered by an unabashed humility with which he works, trains, breeds and loves his horses. John is a lifetime subscriber to Small Farm...

Believe us, we understand your hesitation…if you follow the headlines, the picture for small organic farms looks pretty scary. It’s enough to make anybody think twice about leaping into sustainable farming!

Rob has been building studio trucks; rooms on the back of trucks. These trucks are great extra spaces and you don't need council approval, just drive and park out the back plug in an extension cord and wallah you have a beautiful room.
