Gotta start them young! 3rd generation Peters Hay Farmer in training! We recently finished the last cutting of 2026 and he was so proud as you can see by his Vanna White pose lol. The hay we grow feeds almost all of our animals which in turn feed us or give back to the farm in another way. Homegrown Beef, Rabbit, Pork and soon Lamb are all available to purchase, so message for all the deets.

In other news, the stand will be out tomorrow, Saturday October 24th, fully stocked with all your farm fresh sourdough goodness from 10:00am til Sundown in the open field near the corner of Borah Hill Rd. & Wespoint Rd. Sugar Grove. (We are booked for a private event next Saturday the 31st, so stock up and we will be back out there the week after.) This week is the last week you'll find hidden wooden tokens in items for free loaves, so be on the lookout! And y'all have until the end of October to still get entries for the gift basket giveaway by simply posting your goodies or experience from the stand, making sure to tag us in it!

First things first...we have added a new member to the Peterspeeps Family Farm...introducing Paris Peters!!! 🥰(The kids want to name her other things, so they call her other names lol, don't know if she would mind a name change after all these years, not sure horses care lol but she mostly responds to a click of your tongue anyways lol)

The sweet little girl who had her, is all grown up now and moved out living life, so she needed a new family to bring joy to, and that family is us!! Paris is a mini horse, she is 13 years old and she loves to be brushed & hugged, carrots and apples are her favorite treat and she now has so many new barnyard buddies to hang out with each day!

Second...and huge news...I can't even believe it's been a year already!!! Happy Anniversary to the Little Red Hen Farmstand!!! We continue to grow and we want to thank you all for your love & support of our little dream, so we will be celebrating all month long with some giveaways & goodies for y'all!

So tomorrow, Saturday October 10th, we will be out with a fully stocked Farmstand for y'all in the open field near the corner of Borah Hill Rd and Westpoint Rd. Sugar Grove. 10:00am-Sundown ..but wait there's more...

~Paris will be there too! From 11:00-1:00 you can come by and there will be a little area set up with hay bales, pumpkins, mums etc that you can bring your kiddo and meet her, get your picture with her, brush her hair, feed her some treats, etc.

~Also, for the next 3 Saturday's, we will be hiding a little golden ticket of you will, wooden tokens for free homemade sourdough loaves will be hidden in things you buy, so be on the look out!

~And last but not least...if you stop by the stand and post a picture of what goodies you brought home/or the experience you had on social media and then make sure to tag us in the post, you will be entered to win a custom gift basket of $100+ value from the Little Red Hen. No limit to how many entries, every tagged post is another entry and the winner will be drawn at the end of the month!

Sorry for the late post...a bakers nightmare happened this week...my oven broke! I do work it very hard after all, so I am not that shocked.

But don't worry we had a back up plan and everything will be baked and ready for y'all tomorrow morning! So make sure to stop by the stand, Saturday September 26th from 10:00am-8:00pm in the open field near the corner of Borah Hill Rd. & Westpoint Rd. Sugar Grove, OH.

So I had planned to post a bunch of pictures of things you can get at the Farmstand this week because y'all know there is awesome sourdough loaves, but there is so so much more than that...but then, this happened!

🧡 The Little Red Hen's, little red chicky...got ENGAGED!!!💍

She is also now an official Oral Surgery Assistant on top of all her other titles! Every week I meet so many new amazing people who come to the stand, neighbors, friends, etc and I just appreciate all your feedback and support. So as I get to know y'all more, and y'all get to know us more, I figured I had to share our family's joy as it continues to grow!

✨️Key take aways from this post...
1. You should stop by the farmstand tomorrow to keep your mouth happy with homemade/homegrown goodness so you don't ever have to visit her at work lol. 😉
2. You should also stop by the farmstand tomorrow and get someone YOU love, some amazing homemade, farm fresh, home grown goodies so you can surprise them and see if you can make them smile as big as this little red chick is right now! 😁
3.You won't have to worry about not having sourdough/that the LRH is retiring anytime soon, because there are 5 more little chickadees to go after this one! 😂

One of my favorite things in our lil farmhouse bakery, is this bread light!
This light signaling it's bread making time & of course my oven, will be on for a good 19+ hours today/tonight and into tomorrow morning!! Maybe the lack of sleep makes me laugh easily, but who knows.

🎶I like PIG butt's and I can not lie🎵...don't act like you can't finish that song lol!
Anyways, these 3 little piggies are going to market on Sunday.
Saying goodbye to our animals can be hard, but they lived a wonderful, happy life here on our farm. They have had a ball growing up here, especially lately with all the rainstorms making sure there has been no shortage of their favorite thing...muddy puddles to play in!
They teach our children the true meaning of hard work and respect for our food, helping them understand and appreciate where our meals come from, and I am grateful for those lessons!

What We Learned:
* Good Life: They had sunshine, mud, fresh pasture and good care every single day.
* Real Work: The kids helped feed and care for them from start to finish.
* Deep Respect: We honor these animals and the true cost of our food. Knowing where your food comes from and having a hand in the process from start to finish is priceless!

(We do share the love of course, so we have one pig available for purchase if you would like to stock your freezer. It can be bought as a half or a whole, and it will come labeled, vacuum-sealed, frozen, and delivered if local.)

☆Now for the deets about tomorrow...Saturday August 22nd, the stand will of course be out and fully stocked with a huge variety farm fresh goodies!
