Winter in New England! Not what ya think when composting.

Ice build up on the roller causing the belt to “walk” to one side. Easiest fix….heat the roller, ice will melt and the belt moves back into place!

Great time of the year to start thinking of amending your flower/vegetable gardens. One of our long time customers, Pam with Blue Sky Gardens is doing exactly that! Except she’s amending new flower beds for next year using our compost!!

In the previous post, our collaboration with led to improving the performance of our Seed Starting Mix.
Rebecca ran a trial using our original mix (left pic), a mix from another producer(middle pic) & the mix we worked together on (right pic)

Notice the difference between the first pic. & the second…it’s noticeable!!

The difference was…..adding Alfalfa into the blend!

Fall Seeding
We’ve been working with Rebecca and Paul for a few years now. What’s been great working with them is the collaboration to improve our soils. They offered a recommendation that’s now a staple in our seed starting mix.
