One of our favorite things about our Market is all the people that come to our little town on our Market Mondays! Market shoppers often stop in our local grocery store or fill up on gas at FS before they leave town. Not only do our Market shoppers support our vendors, they support our local businesses! We love that what would be a quiet Monday night in our little town becomes a bustling Monday evening on Broadway Street!

Let's talk about somethings we have planned for this Market season! We are bringing back some past favorites like our EMS Super Heroes Touch A Truck, Quilts of Valor Veterans Presentation, Art at the Market and National Farmers Market Week!

One of our new nights that we are very excited about is our Mini Makers Market! This is a chance for our young Market fans to stretch their creative and entrepreneurial talents! We will be hosting a kids' entrepreneur night where our kiddos get to set up a booth and sell their wares! They will be in addition to our normal vendors. However we are encouraging all of our young Market fans to start their planning now! Maybe you love to make jewelry or art or grow vegetables or bake treats! Now is your chance to flex your entrepreneur muscles! Mark your calendars for our July 20th Market! We will ask you to register in advance. Stop and talk with us at the Booster Club table! We have some new followers, so let's take a few minutes to talk about our Vendor Basket Raffle that we have at each Market.

We started the Stronghurst Farmers Market to bring people to our community, to bring our community together and to bring the grower/producers to the consumer directly. We aren't trying to make money on the market. We do NOT charge our vendors to set up. Instead, the vendors donate 1 item to our Vendor Basket Raffle. What about those awesome snow cones from Ferris and June's? Well they donate a free snow cone certificate. Say I'm a vendor who has only large items? You donate a certificate for a certain percentage off a purchased item. Why do we do this? Well, there are some costs incurred by the Market. We sell raffle tickets for each basket. This helps us pay for any and all of those costs. The intentions behind the Vendor Basket is that hopefully we introduce new vendors and products to a shopper/the raffle winner. We are hoping to bring new customers to the vendors each week. So the Vendor Basket helps the vendors and the Booster Club pay for the market costs. It also is a fun extra for our regular Market shoppers!

We are always looking for new vendors to join us! Last season we had a nice mix of handmade items, honey, food, plants and flowers. We would love to find some fruit growers to join us! We are ALWAYS looking for more vegetable growers! The demand for local/fresh produce is high and the supply is low! We can promise you great sales if you are ready to jump into the world of gardening/growing/producing. Would you like more information? I can even hook you up with a mentor/guide! We are excited to start our FIFTH season! Can you believe we have been doing this for FIVE YEARS?! We look forward to making it our biggest and best yet!

Vendor Applications are up and we are ready to start registering vendors! It's easier than you think! We especially are looking for produce vendors! Locally grown produce is high in demand! Local produce vendors are not numerous! If you love to garden and produce more than you can consume, let's talk! Join us!

Harrison (and his Grandpa Jim) joined us last season at our Market! Harrison's bird feeders and houses were immediately one of our most popular items! Well Harrison has a new project this year! He has beautiful, handmade planter boxes. He is taking orders! You just never know the local artisans you will find at our Market!
