And just like that, the 2026 market season has come to a close.
It feels a little surreal to even write that. What began as a tiny dream in 2025 somehow found its way into the world in 2026, and I have been so honored to watch it take root, grow, and become something real. I am endlessly grateful for every person who stopped by, set up a table, bought something handmade, shared a post, brought a friend, said hello, or simply wandered through the market on a Saturday morning.
There is something profoundly special about building a place for community from the ground up. I am so moved by the people who call this place home, and I will never stop feeling grateful for this sweet little town and my little corner of the world within it. Thank you for making my very first string of markets such a beautiful and fruitful season. You gave this dream somewhere to grow.
And now, as the leaves begin to turn and our side of the world settles into its quieter half of the year, StarRoots will be doing the same. The markets will return in 2027. I’m shooting for April! Until then, I’ll be stepping away from social media, both personally and for the business. I’ve decided to delete the apps from my phone for the season and let myself have a proper little hibernation. Just as fall gives way to winter, I feel called to turn inward, get quiet, tend to my own little garden, and make some room for rest.
The StarRoots email will remain open at [[email protected]] while our social media sits quietly beneath the snow. Vendor applications will remain open, as always, and can be found pinned at the top of the page. Otherwise, you probably won’t hear much from me for a while, and I think that’s a beautiful thing.
As we move into these slower months, I hope you give yourself permission to step away from the glowing little rectangles, too. Go outside. Get your hands in the dirt. Watch the trees change. Make something. Notice the moon. Follow a sunset all the way home. There is so much life waiting for us beyond the screen.
With so much love, appreciation, and gratitude,
Grace
