Frey's General Store Stop by for the hardware, browse the history, and stay for the conversation. But Frey’s is more than just a place to shop—it’s the heart of Stapleton.

Not many authentic general stores are left, but the thrill and experience of visiting Frey’s General Store in Stapleton, Nebraska, will take you right back in time. Serving our community as a trusted hardware store for a century, Frey’s remains exactly as it was when it was first built. When you walk across our old, creaking hardwood floors, you are walking through history. The shelves are lined not only with the hardware you need but also with countless antiques, old mementos, and unique consignment products from local vendors. Right in the middle of the store sits an old table surrounded by chairs. Every morning at 8 o’clock, you’ll find local farmers and ranchers gathered around it, drinking coffee and discussing the world’s problems.
