Admittedly, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I can’t see our way around a tidal wave when it comes to meat prices. I don’t see how calf prices can be as high as they’ve been for the past several months and how that doesn’t translate into devastating prices for the consumer 18 months out, starting several months ago. If there’s a magic bullet, it’s because somebody caught it.

Shoppers are seeing record high beef prices at the grocery store. That’s in part because the number of cattle in the U.S. is at an all-time low, while consumer demand has remained strong.

I’ll be interested to watch this. Not for nothing but we’ve gotten more calls than usual about lamb lately.
