If this is any indication on how our strawberries will look next year we are really excited 😍 the handful of established plants we brought have been producing big beautiful and juicy strawberries. Our goal is to let them spread this year and be able to sell next spring 🍓

Lettuce is sold out for today

I'm getting the lettuce bagged and ready to go out right now. The stand is not done so temporarily we are just using a cooler at the end of our driveway. There is a jar in the cooler for the money.

$2 a bag. As of 8:45am there is 7 bags left.

It's pepper topping day!

Topping peppers... something that looks awful but has always helped produce more peppers for us. Topping the plant tells it to bush out more which then will give it more areas to produce flowers. More flowers = more 🌶

If it could stop raining this much that would be GREAT. 🤦‍♀️ good news is popcorn is not under water. Bad news is our personal supply of sweetcorn is 😭 green beans are in an iffy spot. Water needs to clear within the next 2 days or we will probably be replanting certain things. We had plans on getting more things accomplished before planting but our focus was on getting the house livable. Top on our to-do list for this fall is getting this garden better for next year so we don't have to deal with this again but we just have to survive this year and make do with what we have. We've done a ton of grading hoping to make things better and it's worked to a certain point but there's only so much you can do right now with the amount of water we have received this spring.

Pray for the farmers. Many have not been able to get crops in yet and those that have the fields are struggling. After Sunday it looks like we should get a tiny break.

Did you know... depending on the type you grow if you cut your lettuce it will grow back crunchy??? The lettuce got a major haircut today and should be crispy and wonderful for the stand next week 🥬

As long as everything goes right NEXT WEEK we will have Cesar and merlot lettuce available.

Went from covering to keep from freezing to covering with shade covers because it's to hot 🥵 the lettuce really doesn't like this heat.

Peppers were planted today. 26 pepper plants ranging from sweet to spicy. 🫑🌶

Hopefully the stand will be up soon with some herbs and lettuce 🤞
