ATTENTION CATTLE PRODUCERS! Just HAD to share this, knowing how difficult it is to explain hormone levels in beef to consumers, what with all the talk of nanograms and protein synthesis, etc. Well, one Beef Board member -- Nebraska rancher Joan Ruskamp -- found a great way to put hormones into perspective visually, by using M&Ms -- yes, those colorful little chocolate candies. The Steak and Potatoes Field Day is always an educational and fun event!

Don't forget! The Steak and Potatoes Field Day is set for next Tuesday, August 6. Tours and seminars begin at 8:30 and lunch will be served at 11:30 at our Plateau farm on 70N in Crossville.

Don't forget Cumberland Beef Day is this Thursday, April 11 at the White County Fairgrounds! Our theme this year is "Improving the Health of the Tennessee Beef Herd". Come hear presentations from University of Tennessee faculty, visit with over 40 agriculture vendors, and enjoy a free lunch courtesy of the White/Van Buren Cattlemen's Association!
