And so it begins… with SIX beautiful BUCK kids! Yep, count them folks, all boys…! Mica started off the party (pictured with Anil) with triplets in 3 different colors and 3 different sizes (8,9, & 10!). Sarita dried them off and named them (Maserati, McLeran, and Mercedes 😆) just in time for Blazar to pop out three More (Pollo, Conejo, and Gato)! 3 more due today… including some Alpines!

I wanted to share the funny things that crack me up in the daily life of a goat farmer (while I still have time to write) They are just such endearing animals! I love this time of year when it’s my “job” to check the barn a million times a day 😁 so I witness their sweet and silly moments. They are each so different in their personalities, but they All put up their faces for me to rub their cheeks ♥️ Love is love, whatever the species, and I cherish the bond we share.

Kidding season is almost upon us! The maternity ward is filling up: 6 goats nesting in their fresh digs : ) The nursery is still empty... Anil and Keiran made fresh new pens to hold up to 100 babies! I'll TRY to post updates during the next 6 weeks, so you can share some of the fun... but I can't promise anything, because I've never managed to before : ) If I DO disappear for the next 2 months, you can meet the new crop of babies at our Kid Hugging event in May (either May 3 or May 10). I'll at least be sure to announce that a few weeks in advance. Who do you think will have their babies first? Pictured here are beautiful black and white Nubian Musique from , our pinto pony Alpine Bobolink from Tempo Aquila, and our very own roan Alpine Mica, who is impatient to get back to market season! First we have to feed babies though, with the sweetest, creamiest Pumpkin Vine goat's milk 💛💛💛💛

We hope you can join us for a cozy winter market here at the farm! Winter can be hard, but good friends and good food make it better : ) Come share a story with the vendors & Kelly inside the market, or bring your mug of hot mulled cider out to the bonfire and catch up on farm news with Anil!
We're going to have ALL our dairy products for you to stock up on, including our feta and drunken goat hard cheese. We might even have some samples of the new frozen yogurt we're developing..! Whatever the case, we've got smiles to share!

Hope to see you soon!

Here it is Friends, the official announcement of the day you've been waiting for: our 2025 Yule Goat Celebration and Christmas Market!!! (Raindate December 14)
This is just about the most magic - and most FUN! - you'll find at a holiday celebration! In Scandinavian tradition, the Yule Goat brings presents to children at Christmas accompanied by the Tomten, farm gnomes who look after the well-being of the animals. Visitors are encouraged to come wearing the Tomten's traditional red hat (or borrow one of ours) and get a special holiday photo with one of our Yule Goats! Learn about the tradition with a special story and nature-based crafts, then join one of our Yule Goat walks (leaving at 11:30, 12:30, and 1:30). Bring your market basket and shop our very special Christmas Market, filled with local produce and crafts. Grab a mug of hot mulled cider, some traditional German donuts, and gather around one of our many fire pits to enjoy the season in the company of friends, old & new : )
Keep your eye on our social media in the weeks ahead, for a sneak peek into our preparations : )

The best part of the holidays is being with friends and we can't wait to be with YOU this Sunday, November 23, between 11 -2! All our favorite local vendors are gathering on the farm to fill our market with freshest flavors of the season. What better way to observe this tradition than by filling your Thanksgiving table with the fruits of the local harvest! will have hot cider waiting for you when you arrive, so you can browse the market with cup in hand! Match that with kolaches or cookies, and you just might think the party has already started : ) made the perfect sausage for stuffing the turkey, has the garlic & rosemary to season it with, has delicata & butternut squash, and has gourmet mushrooms to elevate any dish! We (PV) have cheese for every stage of the meal, from appetizer to sweet treat. Need a break from cooking before the BIG MEAL? Treat yourself to lamb tajine or lasagna, made from scratch and ready to reheat in your oven, if you pre-order at redstovefarm.com/pumpkinvine
And don't forget to put your guests in the mood with a special bar of Summit Farm's gentle goat's milk soap, with a refreshing natural scent. When you're done shopping, don't forget to go say "Thanks" to the goats in the barn, who provide so much, to so many all year long (plus they're sweet and adorable and just NEED a head scratch). Come fill your cup with cheer, and we'll fill your table with joy!

Say CHEESE! For all your cheeselovers and local-foodievores, Maine's Open Creamery Day gives you LOTS of reasons to smile! Not only can you sample and buy locally-crafted Maine cheeses, a la the Maine Cheese Festival, but you ACTUALLY get to visit the farms and creameries that produce them, and meet the producers (human and animal) that provide the milk and loving labor to craft them. October 12 between 11 -3, you can visit more then 9 creameries around the state (the leaves are at peak right now!) including ours 😃
We bring you right into our creamery to demonstrate (with samples!) how we make our various cheeses, from our sweet and creamy chevre to our newest hard cheese, Dulcinea, a Spanish-style cheese with a smoked paprika rind (yum!) Special this year, we're excited to give you a tour of our brand NEW milking parlor, including the world premiere of our new "Milking Movie" so you can see those hard-working goats in action! Who knows, you might want to come work here afterwards...! Tours rotate all day; but if you want to go hiking with the goats you have to be here at noon for our famous Goat Foliage Hike 🥰
It's a full schedule, we know, but don't worry: Red Stove Farm will be serving pork tacos and the farmers market has sweet & savory snacks (including our pumpkin spice smoothies & mango lassi) to keep your engines humming a happy song. Bring your market basket as well: some of our region's best producers and artisans will be here with fresh produce, meats, baked goods, olive oils, and local crafts. It's the harvest season; come celebrate your local foodsystem!
