The Salted Shell Farmers Market is a year round, local farmers market in Sneads Ferry, NC, known for artisan sourdough bread, fresh local produce, and raw milk. Had a I grown up on a farm? Did I know what I was doing? Was I excited to learn and to harvest my own eggs for my family? Absolutely! Fast forward to 2022, when I now have a coop that can't quite contain all of my feathered babies and yet

for some reason, I have five tiny chicks growing out in the garage. Plans to build a much larger, sectional coop are underway and the dream has only grown. It is our hope to offer a variety chicks next spring so that others can start their own chicken loving adventures. With all of these ideas and eggs running out of our ears it was time to name our little chicken farm. So, I am proud to announce The Salted Shell to all of you. The purpose of creating this page is to introduce our flock to our patrons and to share our farm stories along the way. I find comfort in knowing where my food is coming from, and I know you will too. There is nothing like going into the backyard and knowing exactly which chicken laid your breakfast! For now, our farm fresh eggs are available exclusively at Midgett & Sons Crab Company in Sneads Ferry, NC. Go check out their amazing selection of local seafood and don't forget to grab some eggs while you are there.

Happy Friday!

Yall always ask how I manage to juggle working at the market and baking the sourdough every night.

The answer: a great 90s country music playlist and inspiration from the ingredients in my pantry. The more excited I am about the flavors I'm putting together, the longer I can find the strength to keep baking!
