First let me tell you the backstory to this pageā¦
Bear ( my female Australian Shepherd )had gone into her third heat and on a daily basis was trying to figure out how to get out of the yard and into the world. Obviously looking for something.. Iām sure she didnāt even know what that something was either but I did , so I tried to keep a close eye on her. Being sheās due for pups first week of June, I did a terrible job of that and should never be left in charge again..
I was leaving for work, not even noticing she wasnāt anywhere around( which shouldāve been my first clue because sheās at my heels all the time). I looked across the street and saw her frolicking with some kind of doodle. Knowing how much she likes to go bye-bye , I got into my car, pulled it out of the driveway and headed just to the end of the street to try and coax her in.
By the time I got out of my driveway, they were already hooked up and , how may I put this delicately , a ā doggy style ā position . š³
I got over there as quickly as possible, jumped out of my car and started scolding them. Well, all this scolding and lecturing has now made them go, but to butt , boy turned around !!! now theyāre stuck together.š± are you freaking serious? Iām thinking ā this is terribleā !!! now I canāt get them apart.. my neighbor comes out of his house , where weāre standing. Meanwhile, his female pitbull is in the window losing her mind.
He said ā OH my God!!! And after standing there in a state of shock for a minute, he ļæ¼suggested we spray a little water on them to calm them down and maybe they would separate. Sounds like a plan. Nothing else I can come up with anyway , letās do it. So literally , weāve turned a hose on them.
But nothing. They actually seem to be enjoying it . Now theyāre nice and cooled off while having fun. Now the family of the male dog comes out the daughter who is obviously in her teens screams out āWhat are they doingā ??!!
I look at her and said ā what does it look like theyāre doingā? Now weāre just waitingā¦.
Cars are slowing down as they pass, I see phones coming out taking video. Iām waving people through thinking , please donāt post my sweet little angel on social media like sheās participating in some kind of doggy p**n..
ā just keep moving , nothing to see hereā I say to the spectacle their witnessing.
Finally, after what felt like about an hour, they separate from each other. We didnāt even allow a kiss good night or a rose on the pillow. I took her , they took him and we brought them home in shame.ļæ¼ Soaking wet, heavy panting, dogs.
And thatās how it all beganā¦. ļæ¼
