We love John & everything he’s about! He helped us in the beginning to know what some “ varieties “ where. He taught us, we teached you! Some of these heirlooms are the best around 🍎

John Bunker, legend behind Fedco Trees, is basically Maine’s apple whisperer. Since kicking off Fedco Trees in 1984, he’s been on a mission to rescue the rarest, oldest apple varieties from the brink of extinction—kind of like an apple superhero with a burlap cape. His genuine friendship with these trees is helping to rediscover and celebrate apples all across the U.S., one variety at a time.

Nod Head, date back to mid/late 1800’s. This hard, crisp & tarty apple is great to eat right off the tree, will hold it shape while cooking & store great throughout the winter 🍎
