We have a small orchard of 30+ fruit trees outside of Shelley, close to interstate exit 108. I’m considering doing a hands-on workshop on pruning techniques.

We have apples, plums, peaches, pears, sweet cherry and sour/pie cherry, and apricot.

If you have any of these in your yard and want some help learning how to prune fruit trees properly, I’m hoping this might be of interest.

Thinking 1-2hour with instructions, tips and practice/hands-on. Probably mid-late February. Hopefully a sunny day. $50.

Edit: limiting to 15 people .

Message me if interested. I’ll set up Venmo for payment.

For over 20 years I worked at the OR Department of Agriculture, and for a good part of that time I was the principal ODA staff supervising price negotiations as provided in Oregon law for grass seed prices between growers and seed dealers (buyers). I retired in 2012.
I’m glad to see the process still going, although disappointed that a seed dealer is trying to gum up the process and not pay growers the negotiated price.
It’s a unique process in Oregon. In my view it represents the best of government by enabling growers and dealers a collective bargaining process without violating antitrust laws via state sponsored supervised negotiations.

Oregon farm regulators lack the authority to suspend the licenses of seed dealers to enforce “price orders” for grass seed, according to an administrative judge.
