collected 490 gallons of sap today! Boiled till dark then went home to find no power. bBe back in the woods bright and early tomorrow to start boiling to keep ahead of sap run!

250 taps in another 200 to go. Seems like it takes me longer every year to tap.

Last year was a trying year for us. with all the snow our roof collapsed over the pans and arches. We quick put up a tarp for temp. roof and did the cooking for the season. And as most of you know out of sight out of mind, didn't get the new roof on in good weather so am just finnishing it now. Got a hundred trees tapped today and will hopfully get a bunch more tomorrow, depending on what help shows up.

Will finally make the first gather today. Temps look good for the rest of the week. The big crew will be here this weekend. Fun for all!!!

Tapped another 80 taps today. About 2/3 of the trees had wet holes after drilling. Afew trees that I tapped this morning had about a quart of sap by 4:00 this afternoon. More tapping tomorrow.

trying to get things ready here for sapping season. It is a trying time when you are basically one handed. Evan simple things like washing bag holders is hard. But do have all the wood dragged up to the boiler, but still has to be cut and split. Next week hope to get pans and bulk tank washed and ready. Than wait on weather.

Spent the morning skidding wood up to the evaporator! Makes it tough doing it one handed, but getting it done. Going to clean bag holders and start putting bags together. only four to six weeks away for tapping!
