“Go check your horses.”

I woke up at 5:40am with those words clear in my mind. I grabbed a flashlight and headed outside, expecting the worst—an injured horse, a broken fence, something wrong.

“Go check your horses. You have thirty minutes.”

Thirty minutes? My mind started running through every possible problem.

But when I walked over the hill, all six horses were lying in the grass, sound asleep and perfectly fine.

Then the quiet voice spoke again:

“I never said anything was wrong. I just needed you out here, alone with me.”

And suddenly I noticed everything—the land turning green in the early light, the new barn we’re working toward, the horses God has entrusted to us, even the orphan calf waiting at the gate.

What I’d been seeing as stress… God reminded me were actually blessings.

Maybe today you don’t have horses to check. But take a moment to look around and remember how far God has already brought you.
