This Memorial Day, we want to pause and thank the men and women who gave their lives defending this great American nation, and extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones they left behind. We are so very grateful for the freedoms we are privileged to enjoy every day.
Some of you may know this, but many probably don’t—I (Julia) am an immigrant. My parents came to America when I was young, seeking the opportunity to build a life on a family farm. Because of the freedoms protected in this nation—and because generations before us had the faith and courage to preserve them—they were able to build a new legacy for our family.
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.” — John Adams
Chad and I are grateful for the opportunity to continue building our own family farm legacy here. We both grew up with life on the farm, and now we’re working hard to grow our farm and our business with hopes of passing along faith, knowledge, and opportunity to our own boys someday.
Anyone in agriculture knows that overhead isn’t small and getting started isn't easy. And even while food prices continue to rise, the returns don’t always follow. But we are deeply grateful for each of you who support our farm, value what we do, and encourage us along the way. Your support truly means more than you know.
So this Memorial Day, we are thankful to live in a country defended by men and women who valued liberty more than life itself. And that affords us the freedom to dream and follow God's leading.
“Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.” — Thomas Paine
As we gather with family and friends and enjoy this all-American weekend, may we never forget those who made that freedom possible. May we continue to honor God, cherish freedom, and steward well the opportunities we’ve been given.
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, Jesus Christ.” — Psalm 33:12
