The farmstand is closed for baked goods this weekend even though the forecast has shifted.

I'm keeping an eye on this. It will determine whether I fill the shelves next weekend or just do pre-orders.

🌧️ SOAKING, HEAVY RAIN IS ON THE WAY TO THE SOUTHEAST LATE THIS WEEK.

A fall front will meet a surge of Pacific tropical moisture, setting the stage for widespread rain.

The biggest question right now is timing. Some guidance brings the first rain in as early as late Friday, while other models hold the steadier, heavier rain until Saturday and/or Sunday.

Blending the European, GFS and other guidance, I’m seeing at least around 1 inch on the low end, with 2–4 inches possible across many areas if the current setup holds.

That would be roughly 150–250% of normal rainfall over the next seven days.

I’ll keep fine-tuning the timing and totals for you. Are you ready for a good soaking?
