On behalf of Ernie and our family, we want to say a heartfelt thank you for your faithfulness in supporting Ebees Honey over the years.
Due to declining health, Ernie has retired from beekeeping and is no longer in business. While stepping away has been difficult, we are grateful that he was able to pursue his passion for beekeeping for 50 years and share it with so many of you.
As he approached retirement, his operation expanded, Ebees Honey grew, and so did the number of customers he proudly served throughout the Panhandle. He genuinely loved interacting with you and getting to know the people who enjoyed his honey.
For Ernie, Ebees Honey was about much more than selling honey. He viewed it as a ministry, a way to serve others, and a meaningful way to stay active during retirement. Because of that, he often chose to supplement the business with funds from his personal resources, allowing him to offer honey at prices that were sometimes well below the true cost of operating a beekeeping business.
As you begin purchasing honey from other local beekeepers and new vendors, we hope you will keep Ernie’s story in mind. Please recognize that these beekeepers are building their businesses without the same personal resources Ernie had available to him. Their prices reflect the real costs of caring for bees, producing honey, and sustaining a small local business.
We encourage you to be gracious and supportive as these new vendors find their place in the market. Every jar of local honey represents someone’s time, hard work, investment, and passion—much like the passion Ernie poured into Ebees Honey for 50 years.
Thank you again for supporting Ernie, Ebees Honey, and our family. We are deeply grateful for the many years you allowed him to share something he loved with you.
Ebees Honey is officially closed, and all of the remaining honey has now been sold. There is no honey left to purchase.
Please do not stop by or call Ernie looking for honey to buy. We appreciate your understanding and, most of all, your respect for Ernie and our family as he enters this new chapter of retirement.
