Due to extreme heat and the holiday weekend we will not be hosting the farm stand this weekend but will be back in action next weekend!

Here is what we did with the Red Turnips:
Roasted one batch with just evoo, salt, pepper. Roasted a second batch with taragon, sage, salt, pepper, evoo. The second batch was preferred 🤭🤭🤭

However, we absolutely believe a Roasted trio of red turnips, apples, and carrots with a honey cinnamon glaze would be absolute 🔥 for that autumnal feel once it is no longer 125° outside 😂

I have never eaten or cooked turnip greens. Today I grilled them with salt pepper evoo and a clove of garlic. They are incredible! They have a great peppery bitter taste (if you like arugula this is up one notch from that!) And immediately these greens reminded me of the Chinese Water Spinach I used to get at Joe's Shanghai in NYC Chinatown 💚 apparently they are related plants 💚🥬

Grilled it in tinfoil on the top rack at about 400° for 12 minutes. Perfectly tender!

Fresh 💐 flowers

There are suggested donations listed at the stand, any donation goes towards a community pavilion we are building this summer. However, no one is turned away- anyone is able to come and take what they would need/use. Tonight i gave away lettuce to 2 of our neighbors! This is about bringing and building a flourishing community.

We hope you will come and perhaps give something new a try!

Local farms, gardeners, and School have donated to make bringing fresh and Local produce to the Woodlawn community.

All donations go toward helping us build a community pavilion, but if you don't have the funds you can take what we need! Come and enjoy some fresh herbs, lettuce, peas, kohlrabi, and turnips!
