Spiny lobster season is officially open, and we’re already starting to get some into our tanks. 🦞

California spiny lobster are known for their long antennae, hard, spiny shells, and one very important difference: no claws. What they lack in claws, they make up for in a sweet, meaty tail that’s a California favorite.

It’s been pretty windy out in the Channel this past week with all the storms in the Pacific, which means not a lot of fish have been coming through our harbor.

Today, though, we got a call from our friend Crazy Bill on The Spaniard. He was able to get out on the water and came back with some great catches, including vermilion, lingcod & more, which our SBFM crew Sam & Abel were there to offload.
