Farmers are rain or shine so farmers markets are rain or shine (or heatwave) 👨🌾🌦️
Every year around abnormal weather events, we get asked whether or not the Mercato is still open. The answer is almost always, undoubtedly, undeniably YES. With the exception of dangerous winds, we are open, operating, and prepared to serve our community weird weather and all.
Why? Well the answer is simple. Farm work doesn’t stop just because we want to. Regardless of the forecast, crops need to be harvested, fields need to be tended to, and animals need to be cared for. Often times in more extreme conditions than what we experience in our sunshiny, San Diego bubble.
We’re fortunate enough to live in one of the few places in the country with beautiful weather year-round. So on the off occasion that it’s rainy or a little too hot, we’re clocking into work just like our farmers do ensuring their harvest and their hard work doesn’t go to waste.
The Wednesday Mercato is OPEN tomorrow (heatwave and all) from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM in Little Italy San Diego ❤️
