A few minutes after we shared that HmongTown Marketplace will be closed this Friday, January 23, 2026, one of our owners received an unknown call containing hateful language.

"If you don't like ICE, then get the **** out of this country. You un-American **** heads."

The phone call has been reported to authorities.

We want to be clear: we will not be intimidated. We continue to stand in solidarity with our community that is navigating fear and uncertainty right now.

We are choosing safety, dignity, and unity. Please check on one another, know your rights, and lead with compassion. We are stronger together.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support HmongTown Marketplace and our hardworking vendors. For over 20 years, HmongTown has been rooted in Minnesota, serving and uplifting our people and the broader community. For more than 50 years, our marginalized communities have settled here, persevered, and built lives in pursuit of the promised American dream.

Through hardship, loss, resilience, and hope, our community has worked tirelessly to create opportunity, dignity, and freedom in the land of the free.

In solidarity with A Day of Truth and Freedom, HmongTown Marketplace will join other businesses in our communities in closing on Friday, January 23, 2026. Stores will be closed except for essential businesses, specifically Como Pharmacy.

Please stay safe, know your rights, and above all, choose kindness and love in a world too often driven by fear and division. We see you. We are with you. And we stand with you.

Together, we are stronger.
