POV: You decide to build a chicken coop out of pallets… with absolutely ZERO plans.

So naturally, I recruited my dad.

Armed with a pile of pallets, some tools, a general idea of what it should look like, and absolutely no blueprint whatsoever…

we got to work.

Every piece was measured, cut, adjusted, re-measured, and occasionally followed by:

“Okay… how are we going to make THAT work?” 😂

And somehow, piece by piece, we turned a pile of pallets into a chicken coop for our girls.

It may not have gone exactly according to plan…

but considering there WAS no plan, I’d call it a success.

Just another day at SSSS Farms—where we’re building the farm one project, one lesson, and one “Dad, I have an idea…” at a time.

A Little Farmstand Update

We just want to take a moment to say THANK YOU.

We have been blown away by the support you all have shown our little farm and The Common Ground Farmstand. We have sold out more times than we ever expected, and every empty shelf, every sold-out sign, and every familiar face stopping by means more to us than you probably realize.

This little farm is growing because of you. Thank you for choosing to shop local, for sharing our posts, telling your friends about us, and believing in what we’re trying to build here.

With that said, we also want to be transparent about a little hiccup we’re experiencing right now.

Between the summer heat, a couple of very determined broody hens who are contemplating motherhood, a couple of hens who are raising our 4th generation layers, and some unfortunate theft from the stand over the weekend, our egg supply has taken a bit of a hit. This will likely mean more days of limited egg availability at the stand for the time being.

We absolutely want to continue serving our community and providing eggs whenever our girls are able to keep up! If you know you’ll be needing eggs, you are welcome to place an order with us and we’ll do our best to have them set aside for you.

We appreciate your patience, your understanding, and most of all, your continued support.

We’re still learning, growing, and figuring this whole little farm adventure out — and we are so grateful to have this community growing alongside us.

Thank you for supporting our small farm. We truly couldn’t do this without you.

❗️SOLD OUT - August 6 ❗️

Y’all… we are absolutely blown away.

We opened the stand this morning, and in just 5 minutes, every dozen of eggs was gone!

Thank you for showing up, supporting our little farm, and choosing local. Every carton you purchase helps us continue building the dream we’ve been working so hard to create here at SSSS Farms.

Now it’s time to let our hardworking girls catch up. They can only lay so fast, and thanks to your incredible support, they’re officially working overtime!

We’ll restock as soon as the ladies have filled the nest boxes again. Keep an eye on our page for updates—we’ll let you know the moment fresh eggs are back in the stand.

🍪 Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! 🍪

We wish we could celebrate with fresh-baked cookies… but our kitchen is still under repair!

So we’ll leave the baking to you! 😉 Stop by The Common Ground Farm Stand at SSSS Farms and grab a dozen of our farm-fresh eggs—the secret ingredient to soft, delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies.
