It's been a busy week with lots of transplanting of melons into the field! Another planting of sweet corn is in and the side garden is almost finished. Sweet potatoes, celery and another planting of peas and beans and it will be complete. Zinnias, cosmos and sunflowers will top it off!

Our application has been approved!! We will be participating in the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program for the 2026 farmers market season. We are so excited to be able to provide locally grown fresh produce to our community members and this program is another asset for our senior members.

Sweet corn has been planted into the field and melons are up and thriving. Tomatoes and peppers are continuing to grow taller each day. Cole crops are also doing well.

I've hinted about big changes coming to Six Mile Farms. This May my husband Dale will be retiring after almost 38 years in the work force. He will be leaving a job that has provided for our family and he will expanding a job he enjoys doing. The farm at Six Mile will be expanding and he will be doing it full time. This will allow us to offer produce at our home market during the week and to continue to be at the St. Mary's Canal Side Farmers Market and the Celina Farmers Markets on Saturdays.
We only sell produce we grow here on the farm so we do not have produce every week. We focus on sweet corn, watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, peppers and squash/zucchini. We will have cole crops in May.
As we have produce available, I will post it on Facebook.
Our home market is located just 3/4th of mile east of Bloody bridge off 66N.

It's only though our community's support that we are able to continue this journey. Thank you and we cannot wait to see you this summer

There's a lot going on at Six Mile Farms. Seedlings are growing everyday. 1100 melon seeds planted over the weekend and are already peeking through the soil!! Garlic was planted last fall and is looking good. Several big changes coming to the farm for this coming season! Stay tuned
