From the Roxboro Police Department

Roxboro Man Wanted for Attempted Murder
One person remains in critical but stable condition following a shooting over night in Roxboro. Roxboro Police responded to reports of a gunshot victim just after 11 PM last night in the 400-block of Monroe Street, where officers located 22-year-old, Sherrod Edwards injured from several gunshot wounds. Edwards was transported to a local hospital where he is recovering from surgery.
Police obtained arrest warrants for 32-year-old Jabryant Avian Stanton for Attempted Murder. Records show Stanton was released from prison in 2025, on a 2012 attempted murder conviction in Person County. Police consider Stanton armed and dangerous.

In vegetable farming, it's never in the bag. Never. But I thought I'd tell you it's looking really good for tomatoes. I hope we sell a bunch to pay for a nice Colorado vacation. Just kidding, it will go to bills. Anyways, tomatoes are very easy to bruise and we take great care in picking from the field to placing in baskets for sale. We love kids and think they are a blessing, but watch your kids. Lots of kids pick tomatoes up out of curiosity and throw them back down into the basket. Adults, we'd appreciate it if you wouldn't squeeze the tomatoes. At the height of the season, we have hundreds of people come through each day. We have never said anything before, but constant squeezing causes damage and bruising, resulting in lost product we can't sell. Please be considerate of us and other customers that come behind you.
