✨VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: The Sea Depot✨
We are extremely excited to introduce the family behind our newest vendor, The Sea Depot!
“The Sea Depot started by selling local shrimp from the North Carolina coast and grew through the support of loyal customers who have been part of our family’s journey for decades. Our seafood market is in Cary, and we’re excited to expand and connect to new families through the Midtown Farmers Market!
We believe in quality seafood, honest sourcing, and helping customers find exactly what they’re looking for. Along with local favorites, we’re known for sustainably sourcing across fisheries, seasons, species, and geographies to bring customers hard-to-find items, fresh wild catches, specialty shellfish, and unique seasonal offerings.
One thing you’ll find at The Sea Depot is something that is becoming rare: whole fish. We bring in whole fish and prepare them in-house, allowing customers to have their seafood custom cut, filleted, portioned, or steaked just the way they like! We love helping customers learn, explore new species, and discover just how approachable great seafood can be.
We aren’t just selling seafood; we help people become comfortable trying seafood they have never prepared before and provide recipes with uncommon fish. We also offer custom mignonettes, seafood sauces, sashimi-grade selections, and specialty sourcing aiming to be an accessible fish market with a culinary experience!
We view sustainability as supporting responsible fisheries, fishermen, farmers, and harvesters, with a focus on local first but understanding sustainability practices are not exclusionary, especially as it relates to seasonalities and regulations. Most importantly, we’re grateful. Grateful for the customers, fishermen, chefs, farmers, and community members who have supported our family over the years. We look forward to continuing that tradition, sharing our passion for seafood, and serving the community that helped make The Sea Depot what it is today!”
🐠🐟You can find them at the market this Saturday, June 6th, from 8am-12pm!
