We unfortunately lost our beloved barred rock Bevus this week. He spent his last days hand out by our front door and enjoying the outdoors.

We still have Butthead also a barred rock rooster who has been hiding out in the coop. We’re trying to re introduced him to the flock by starting him with the chicks who have grown to be big. They seam to be getting along well.

We still have a fence separating the chicks from the older birds due to feed. Hopefully in Nov they will slowly transition to the big coop for winter.

This is Afro. She is a mix of a cream legbar and black star.
This is her favorite place to hang out.

Moved the baby birds out to get introduced to their coop mates. Of course they found the 1 hole in the net but we fixed that! They will spend the next few weeks out here.

We reciently donated some of our eggs so students at a charter school could watch eggs incubate and hatch. It’s fun getting updates from them to see which ones are growing. They’re currently at 10 that are growing. Once the chicks hatch and get bigger we will then add them back to our flock.

It’s a great way to teach kids about farming and agriculture!
