You’re not just hearing buzzing when you stand next to a hive. 💓
You’re hearing thousands of honeybees vibrating together at frequencies that researchers believe may influence stress levels, nervous system regulation, and even human mood.
Honeybees communicate through vibration. Inside the hive, they use tiny muscle movements and wing vibrations to signal danger, food sources, temperature changes, and even coordinate the colony’s survival.
The average honeybee wingbeat vibrates around 200–250 beats per second, creating a low-frequency hum many beekeepers describe as strangely calming and grounding 💆‍♀️
Studies suggest these natural frequencies & vibrations may help promote relaxation and reduce stress responses in humans, similar to the effects seen with sound therapy, meditation frequencies, and nervous system regulation through nature exposure.
And honestly… once you’ve stood beside a healthy hive, you understand it.
The sound is powerful but peaceful. It’s one of those things you can’t fully explain until you experience it for yourself!

Some people see bees and run!
I saw bees and...
accidentally built a whole new life ♡
What started as “this might be a fun hobby” turned into something I deeply love, a business I never expected to build, and honestly one of the greatest teachers I’ve ever had ♡
Every season, every hive inspection, every swarm call, every sting, every jar of honey… I learn something new.
These little honeybees have taught me patience.
They’ve taught me to slow down, to stay calm in chaos, to appreciate the seasons and to work hard but quietly. I have a new appreciation to respect nature (aside from being a hunter) and all of God’s creation in a completely different way.
Somehow, tiny insects weighing less than a paperclip help feed the world every single day!
DID YOU KNOW bees pollinate about 75% of the world’s flowering plants and roughly one-third of the food we eat?
🐝 Today is World Bee Day and I just want to say thank you to every bee, beekeeper, gardener, farmer, and person planting flowers or supporting local honey ♡ You matter more than you know!!!

Something big is happening behind the scenes at Bonita Acres!
This week officially begins our move from our home bakery setup into the shop, and while we are incredibly excited, it also means this week will look a little different than normal.
There will be:
• No Hotplate Drop this week
• Limited baked sourdough goods -get there early!
• lots of organizing, lifting, moving, cleaning, and building behind the scenes
We’re entering a new season for Bonita Acres, and honestly… this is one of those “you’ll miss the small beginnings one day” moments.
For the last couple years, so much of Bonita Acres has been built from our home kitchen, late nights, early mornings, farmers markets, deliveries, bake days, and your continued support. Now we’re slowly transitioning into a space where you’ll be able to stop in for your weekly bread, honey, cookies, eggs, and more, all in one place!
As we get settled in, production may temporarily look a little smaller before it grows MUCH bigger. Thank you for giving us grace during the transition ♡

The next chapter is going to be worth it!!!
More fresh baked goods. More consistency. More in-shop availability.
